General Updates06/10/2008

Posted by: Management
It's about time we informed everybody of some general notices, and let people know what's going on behind closed doors. We have a few things to rant about, so we'll get started right away.

Firstly, last week the Battlefield 2142 team was temporarily flagged as inactive so we can focus on getting it back on track. Admittedly, things hadn't been going exceptionally well so we thought we would use the inactive time productively and put the steam train back on track. As a result of our roster refurbishment and extensive 'activity boost', we know that there is certainly still an active team out there, thus we will be persuing Battlefield 2142 until there is no longer a team. The battlefield division will be active from the 15th June.

The second Call of Duty 4 team is currently discussing the best nights to play their matches. At the moment, they are looking at playing on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We would also like to thank Oleedee and Jelleh for stepping up to help manage the team. Recruitment for this team is currently closed, but we are seeking new high skilled players to play in Team 1. Further details can be found on the forum.

Management would also like to say farewell to Medic who has opted to leave the clan. Medic has been a proud defender (quote from his own words) since 2006. Throughout his time in the clan, he has played for the Battlefield 2142 team, founded and managed the Counter Strike team, and managed the Call of Duty team. He was a great member, a great friend too, thus we wish him the best of luck in the future.

Finally, we would like to announce the new Management team. Each member of the team has either been a Clan Leader for the clan in the past, or has worked their way up the ranks. Each of them will be given a role that they are solely responsible for. Congratulations (and good luck) to Kyouteki, Fizzler, G.Grim, AprilRains and Quagmire.

Roster Refurbishment06/02/2008

Posted by: Management
The following post is applicable to current members and potential members of the clan.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have been experimenting with new methods of monitoring the exact role of our clan members and how best we can make the most of their activity. As a result of this, the clans Management has opted to take on a process of 'deep cleaning' the clan roster to ensure that every member has their member status and role update to ensure it is still applicable.

For members of the Divisional Leadership Team (all the Divisional Leaders), their role will be revised and changes may be applied if it's no longer applicable to what they do. However, it is the clan members that will notice most of the changes. We have decided that if a member is not active for matches on a daily basis, they should have their membership changed. We stress though, that we don't expect our members to be online every single night - we just want our members to be as active as they possibly can to ensure we continue working our way up the leagues and ladders we compete in. Only members that are seriously inactive will be removed from the clan.

Whilst we have said that you won't be removed from the clan, you will be removed from the division that you play for. This will free up a space in that team which may be filled by another clan member or a potential member. Again we stress that being removed from the team is not some sort of punishment to our less active members, it's simply part of our ongoing efforts to further improve the clan and its status on various leagues and ladders.

Finally, we would like to inform any potential members that recruitment for Counter Strike: Source and Call of Duty 4 is now closed: no members will be accepted without the permission of the Management team. Again this is simply to avoid a mass of members who never get to play matches because the team is full. If you do wish to join us in the near future though, we recommend that you use our forums on a regular basis and your activity will be noticed by the Divisional Leader for the game you play.

The outcome of our 'roster refurbishment' will be posted at a later date, with news of any open spaces on our teams.

Closed COD4 Recruitment05/20/2008

Posted by: Management
As of today, recruitment for the Call of Duty 4 division will now be running a strict process of invite only. If you are a Call of Duty 4 player who wishes to join the clan, our best recommendation would be for you to register on our forums and use our Ventrilo servers, this will both familiarise yourself with the members and the way the clan is run. Eventually you may be asked if you wish to become a probationary clan member.

The Call of Duty 4 team now also has two active teams, thanks to hard work by the Management and Divisional Leaders. The second team are as follows:
Exp0
Scypirate
Jelleh
Oleedee
KillWill
SAMURAI
t0m
Wardogs

We wish them the best of luck in their first official match tomorrow evening.

Clan T-Shirts05/08/2008

Posted by: Recoil.
With the LAN Event fast approaching, we are looking to purchase some T-Shirts for all members attending the event, but also for members not attending who would like one anyway.

At the moment, we are sticking with a simple black and white design, with the member name, clan name and web address on the front. On the back will be our clan name again and our web address, but this will take up most of the rear of the shirt.

Any member wishing to purchase a shirt for £12 should contact me immediately so I can get an order sent off. This price does not include postage and package

To order a T-Shirt, please submit your order to: recoil@2d-clan.co.uk

Two COD Teams & CSS Changes05/03/2008

Posted by: Recoil.
At the moment, our COD4 team - who have battled to 6th place in Enemy Down - only play during the weekends. As part of the ongoing expansion plans, we have been recruiting players to form a mid-week team, playing matches when the other team can't. The new team will have its own team on Enemy Down and they will not be a part of the weekend team. However, we stress that both teams are still part of the same division and friendly/scrim matches will not be based on what team a player is in.

At the moment, the fine details of this move are still being confirmed, but we wish to welcome the following people to the clan:
Jelleh
Exp0
Scypirate

We will keep you informed with the developments of the move and we hope to have two active Call of Duty teams by the middle of the month.

Moving away from COD4, we would like to congratulate KirroS, as he has passed Stage One of the selection process to become a Divisional Leader. He has been promoted to Acting Deputy Head of CSS and will now be working alongside Quagmire to make the division as strong as possible.

We wish him the best of luck with his new role and the rest of the selection process.

COD4 - April 2008 Trials04/26/2008

Posted by: Recoil.
In a bid to try and recruit good players with a good personality, we have decided to trial new players in a friendly scrim to see how they react under the stress of a match situation. Trials will take place on Tuesday 29th April. The key points that we are looking for are listed below.

* Ability to interact well with members
* Ability to communicate tactics etc. verbally to other members
* Average/High level of gaming skill
* Evidence of desire to get involved and socialise with other members

This is not designed to be a test of skill, but instead a test of how well you interact with other members and you're ability to play alongside them. If you are interested in trialing for the clan on the aforementioned date - and have not yet spoken to me - then please email me: recoil@2d-clan.co.uk

Good luck to everybody involved.

Members of the clan (listed below) have made plans to attend a small and social LAN Event hosted in Rugby on the weekend of 23rd - 26th May. The event is one familar to Samurai and I, as we attended last year, but this time we have an army of us:

 • Recoil.
 • SAMURAI.
 • Medic
 • FiNiK
 • G.Grim
 • Wardogs
 • Dang3rous
 • m00f

We only have two more payments to be received, and we are all looking forward to a long weekend of gaming, gaming, fast food, and more gaming. Notice how sleep isn't mentioned....

New Website04/05/2008

As you can see, our new glowing website is now online. However, it will still take us a while to ensure that all data from the previous website is displayed on this one, so please bear with us during this time.

We would encourage you to visit our Forums in the mean time, and this can be done by clicking here
